USA Basketball are still waiting from some of its NBA player’s announcement if they will commit to playing for 2012 London Olympics. For some of the players, this is their chance to grab the opportunity to play in a global stage and win an Olympic medal. For Kobe tough this is his chance to catch Micheal Jordan and his six NBA championship and two Olympics gold medal. With only one year remaining before the Olympics the USA Mens basketball team still has some issues to resolve. One of those issues that needs immediate solutions is the impact of the NBA labor dispute. If the labor dispute pushes, deep down, into the season, there is a big chance that the team will lose its NBA stars. USA basketball has been too dependent to David Stern and the NBA that if things don’t bid well in the NBA Team USA will have to field a team of American players whove built careers overseas, as well as D-League players, and perhaps a superior college superstar or two.
With that scenario, teams like Spain, Argentina, Greece and other basketball powerhouse country will have a big chance to win the Gold in 2012. Another issue is team chemistry. Will the team have enough time to build chemistry with each other? With the addition of new players from the 2010 World Championship team how will the players adjust with each other? Egos will probably play a big role with this new Dream team, and I know there some players who’ll clash ego’s with each other in the process. Jerry Colangelo will have a though time building this team but if things go as planned this Dream Team is going to be one nest team ever assembled in USA History.
